Bottom Up or Top Down?

Join Rob as he explores the when and how to implement a brain-based approach, over a biomechanical one. Understand verbal and physical cues and signs; use easily replicable assessments; and use simple interventions to help facilitate a more balanced sensory and nervous system prior to beginning a movement session.
Rob Carruthers has been actively exploring all things Pilates for over 10 years. Starting in New Zealand with a degree in Sport Science and Exercise Physiology, he then fell in to Pilates in London while traveling. Starting with Dynamic Reformer Pilates, he then moved towards more clincal work with APPI, supporting allied health clinics and professional sporting teams such as Brentford FC. Upon moving to Melbourne in 2016, he and his wife Ash Berry opened the Movementality studio which became widely recognised for excellence in Pilates and Education for the wider Pilates community. During this time, he also refined his focus on Functional Neurology, functional movement training, and injury rehabilitation. This all led to developing a reputation for helping those with complex injuries, and athletes looking to refine their performance.
